Time for a change
There’s a problem in Washington, and it’s getting worse. Our government is out of control and our leadership has no respect for the people they were elected to represent. Unfortunately, it’s a problem we’ve created. We have got to stop sending the same out-of-touch politicians to Washington expecting things to get better. They’ve stopped listening!
The American spirit is unique. No matter how much we’re abused by those with power, no matter how much our confidence in our elected officials is taken for granted, no matter how much we’re disrespected, we have faith that things will get better. Most times we naively think that the people we elect have our best interest at heart. Choosing politicians based on catchy slogans and campaign promises has left us with little more than corruption and confusion.
It is time we face reality and realize that those we have elected are not taking care of us. The American spirit needs to take over and we need to take charge. Just as our forefathers did when they founded this great country, we need to take our country back. We won’t be defeated in these tough times, but we need to act now.
It’s time that we replace those in Washington who aren’t listening to us with those who will.
It’s time we replace those who think our money is their money with those who know where our hard earned money comes from and want to see us keep more of it.
It’s time to replace those who ignore our Constitution and replace them with people who will respect it and what it stands for.
It’s time we replace those in Washington who have forgotten that they work for us!
We must replace the arrogant, “politicians” with ordinary people who are used to living in the real world. We need people who understand the needs of the average American, and who value the principals of this great country. We need people who value hard earned money and remember exactly who it is that earned it. It’s time we repair the disconnect between our representatives and the people they represent.
The current member of the US House of Representatives who is representing Texas District 20 was groomed by his father from an early age to be a “politician.” His father was a fighter for the people he represented and the people in San Antonio loved him. Henry B was a leader.
Charlie, however, is not his father. At some point he has to stop riding on his father’s coattails and run on his own records. He is rated, by those who study the members of Congress, as a follower, not a leader. His report card (again by those who research the members of Congress) is dismal. He has done nothing for the people who elected him. He keeps getting reelected by those who expect him to be the leader his father was, but the time has come to accept the fact that he has not lived up to expectations and send him home.
I ask that you take a moment and read how I stand on the issues. The information I provide is not intended to be a set of promises to try and get elected, but more a picture of what you can expect of me when I am elected. I am not what most have come to expect as a politician. I am not here to sugar coat things and tell you that we have an easy path ahead of us. Our country is in a tough spot and it’s not going to be easy to get us back on course. However, things can get better but we need to fix what’s broken in Washington for this to
happen.
